St. Andrew Men’s Day

St. Andrew P.B. church celebrated Men’s day Sunday Sep 26, with the theme coming from 1 Corinthians 15: 57-58 “Steadfast Men Working for Christ”. Pastor Michael Hartwell opened up with the call to worship. The song service came from the Gospel Imperials of Huntsville. They sung several spiritual songs including “Move Satan” and “Heavy Load.” Brother Brandon Horton rose to give the occasion and gave the men encouraging words on how to be steadfast and unmovable. The Men’s day message came from the Pastor of New Hope MB church of Opp, Al, Bobby Hartwell. He is also the brother of Pastor Michael Hartwell.  He gave a very powerful message called “God, my Father” coming from Genesis 31. Pastor Hartwell reminds us that no matter how smart or successful we may be, God has been with us through our entire journey.  It was truly a blessed time. The women of the church served the men a hearty meal between the morning service and the afternoon program.  Mt. Zion CPCA of Madison AL was the guest church for the afternoon service. Pastor James Robinson from Mt. Zion CPCA brought the afternoon message. He preached from Genesis 1:26. Brother Ronnie Smith charged the men of church to remain stedfast in their work for the Lord.  Two St. Andrew men, Deacon Dwight Lewis and Deacon Sandy Moore were recognized as "Men of the Year" because of their continued steadfast service to St. Andrew and the community. Sister Phyllis Brandon, a junior at Lee High School blessed the congregation with a poem she wrote in honor of the men’s day occasion.

AN EXTRAORDINARY MAN He is the back bone...

He helps us to stay strong, when everything goes wrong

He hold the weight of the world on his shoulders...

With every step that he makes God's love makes his a bit bolder

EXTRAORDINARY MAN.... he goes the extra mile whenever he can

An EXTRAORDINARY MAN being a positive role model…

Lord knows these young people need someone to follow

He knows how to humble himself....

He gives his all until there is nothing left

He tries to fight bad days....

but at the same time thanks the Lord for his amazing ways

When he is having a midnight Praise he began thanking God for his amazing grace Although he have sinned and came short of the glory

He will still stand up and testify and tell his story

An extraordinary man is not ashamed to cry...

For his family and friends he is truly willing to die

He is an EXTRAORDINARY MAN
