ST ANDREW PB CHURCH ushers in Black History Month with Baptism Worship. Pastor Hartwell extends the invitation to Christian Discipleship as he prepares to go to the water with Sister Teneeshia Gholston. After hearing the word of God, Sister Shamiah Caudle came forward and confessed hope in Christ, accepting Jesus as her personal Savior. Both were baptized based on the profession of their faith in the name of The Father, and of The Son, and of The Holy Ghost. Also Fellowshipped in was Brother Bibb Collier, III. The morning worship continued with the Youth of the Church in charge and Associate Minister Buford Moore bringing the message entitled “Dwelling in Unity” coming from Psalm 133:1-3 Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity! It is like precious oil upon the head, running down on the beard, the beard of Aaron…. Unity among God’s people, it’s good and pleasant. Our purpose is to glorify God. We need to take self out. Abraham tried to bring peace between his herdsman and Lot’s herdsman. So it is with us we should seek peace and seek to keep unity. There should be unity in God’s house. We’re to love one another as Christ loved us, John 13:34. We should encourage one another and build one another. One should leave the church feeling better than when he came. We need the anointing. I can see unity on the day of Pentecost. They were all on one accord. We should teach our children the word of God daily; at the dinner table, teach. Duet:6:9 You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates. We should be a light in the work place for those who don’t know God. We have a duty to be a light for people so they will a desire to have what we have; a desire to know and accept Christ. They should see something different about us, something that glorifies God. God desired a way for man to unite back to Him. There was not one worthy. God said “Prepare me a body, I’ll go down and redeem man back to myself”. I can see Unity coming through 42 generations. I see unity baptized by John in the Jordan River. I can see unity in the comforter, the Holy Spirit. The Youth of the Church began it’s year long Black History Celebration with a presentation by Brother Charleston Moore on the great George Washington Carver. Charleston gave the congregation history on Carver including he started his formal education at the age of 12, Iowa State first Black faculty member, invented 300 uses for peanuts, and invented instant coffee….. Charleston gave the congregation a fascinating look into the life and accomplishments of George Washington Carver.
