SAPBC Usher's Annual
April 3, 2011
Special Guest: Elder Billy Jones, and the St. James PB Church Family

"I had rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God, than to dwell in the tents of wickedness" Psalm 84:10
The Usher's Annual is a day when we honor and thank the Ushers for assisting during Church services and helping things move smoothly. SAPBC Ushers lead us to our seats, watching the congregation, caring for the flock from the back of the sanctuary, the aisles, sharing the joy of worship with one bulletin, one smile, one greeting and one handshake at a time.
SAPBC Ushers Annual Service was called to order by our very own Pastor Michael Hartwell. St. James Choir embraced us with heart touching spiritual songs, such as, "Now let us all go back to the old land mark," "He's done so much for me," and "I don't want no trouble at the river." Scripture reading Psalm 84:10-12. Sis Vera Harris presented a Memorial Tribute, remembering Sis. Stephanie Coleman-Lewis, who passed away this year. Stephanie was a very dedicated, loving and spiritual minded member of SAPBC as well as the Usher Board.

The guest minister was introduced as being friendly, likeable, sincere and loves God! After Hymn of Preparation, Elder Billy Jones read from Exodus 14:13-16, Text being "Moving Forward and Crossing Over". His main points were, do you know if you call on God He will hear and answer your prayer. Wherever God is the ground becomes Holy. We all have been in bondage at some time in our lives, there is only one that can get you out and that’s God. Some say He's the Lily of the Valley and some say he is the bright and morning star.
He stated that we have a mixed congregation, you can't tell who is saved and who is not. God has never told us it would be easy, but He said He will be right there.
Three key points he made:
- Fear not-God is on your side
- Stand still- We can't win everything but with the help of God we will be alright.
- Seeing the salvation of the Lord- He will fight the battle for you
Faith is believing that God is going to do what He say He's going to do. While you are standing still you can get good instructions from a good instructor. God will keep His word, He will fight for you if you hold your peace, He is the Prince of Peace. It's impossible to cross over if you don't move forward. We didn't come here to stay, one day we have to cross over. When we cross over, it won’t be over the sea, but from Earth to Glory.

Ushers keep moving forward, because cross over day is coming!
