Church 77th Anniversary

St. Andrew PB Church Celebrated Its 77th Anniversary
St. Andrew Primitive Baptist Church, where Elder Michael Hartwell is the pastor, observes the second Sunday in November as Its Church Anniversary. In 1934 under the auspice of God, with the inspiration of the Holy Spirit and the guidance of Jesus Christ, Elder William A. Holman and his wife, Mary, planted the seed that we currently call “The St. Andrew Primitive Baptist Church.” November 13, 2011 was the St. Andrew PB Church family’s 77th Anniversary. The celebration started at morning worship with special guest, Elder Bobby Hartwell, Pastor of the New Resurrection MB Church, and special musical guest Huntsville’s own Gospel Imperials. The lead singer Thomas Holman is Elder William Holman’s grandson. The Gospel Imperials blessed the congregation with several of their songs including “Move Satan” and “Heavy Load”. Elder Bobby Hartwell encouraged the St. Andrew family to look forward to Heaven with the message “As soon as I get Home” coming from Hebrews 13:10-13.
The afternoon program was just as exciting and blessing as the morning worship. Elder Larry Lockett and the New Hopewell Church Family conducted the afternoon service. Elder Lockett’s message to the church was “Stay Focused” added to the church theme of Moving Forward and Crossing Over. Elder Lockett’s message came from Philippians 3:10-14. He urged the congregation to forget about the past and reach forward towards the future. The St. Andrew Church family is excited to see what God has in store for the next 77 years.
Elder Alan Holman, an associate minister at St. Andrew, has been elected Pastor of the White Rock Primitive Baptist Church, Stevenson, Al. The St. Andrew church family will hold a special “farewell” program for Elder Holman and his family on November 20th at 2:30pm. All are invited to attend and congratulate Elder Holman and the White Rock PB Church.
